In a stunning debut, Saiyaara stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda have taken the box office by storm. Released last week, the Mohit Suri directorial has rapidly built momentum, drawing crowds across the country. The chemistry between the leads and the film's emotionally charged music have found favour among both fans and critics.
As per the latest update on Sacnilk, the romantic drama raked in ₹14.79 crore on its eighth day (second Friday), taking its overall tally to an impressive ₹187.54 crore.
From the day of its release, Saiyaara showed no signs of slowing down. The film opened at a whopping ₹21.5 crore and hit its peak on Sunday with a collection of ₹35.75 crore. Even during weekdays, the movie maintained a strong hold at the box office, ending its first week with a staggering ₹172.75 crore.
With the latest Friday earnings added, Saiyaara has now surpassed the lifetime collections of major releases like Sikandar, Sitaare Zameen Par, and Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5, which had ended its run at ₹183.3 crore.
The film's second weekend projections are also optimistic, especially since Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2 has been delayed until August 1. This means Saiyaara has clear ground at the box office, and industry analysts expect it to breach the ₹200 crore mark within the next few days.
The film has resonated deeply with Gen Z and millennial audiences, thanks to its relatable plot and strong performances. Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, has backed the project, which has now become one of the biggest Bollywood surprises of the year.
Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara tells the story of Krish Kapoor (Ahaan Panday), an aspiring musician, and Vaani Batra (Aneet Padda). Their romance faces a tough test when an unexpected twist leads Vaani to walk away. The film’s musical score and heartfelt narrative have contributed significantly to its success.
