The company has now announced a lifetime battery warranty on two electric cars - Nexon.ev 45kWh and Curvv.ev. What is the Lifetime Battery Warranty?

Now, there will be no limit on the battery of these Tata vehicles – you can drive as much as you want, the battery will remain in warranty.
Earlier this feature was available only on Harrier.ev, but now it has been implemented on Nexon.ev and Curvv.ev as well.

Who will get the benefit?

Those buying a new car will get this warranty automatically. Old customers who are already driving Tata's EV (like Tiago.ev, Tigor.ev) will get this warranty automatically.
If you buy Nexon.ev or Curvv.ev now, you will also get a loyalty discount of Rs 50,000. This facility will be available to the first owner.

What will this change?

Now there will be no tension of battery replacement. The battery is the most expensive part, which will now be covered under warranty. Also, the resale value of the vehicle will increase.
The maintenance and fuel cost of EV is anyway less than petrol vehicles, which can lead to savings of up to Rs 8-9 lakh in 10 years.
This move of the company will further promote the adoption of EV in India.
