Nantes centre-back Nathan Zézé (20) is closing in on a move to La Liga side Villarreal, according to Ocean press. The France U21 international is on the verge of leaving his formative club to sign for the Champions League-playing Spanish club. Villarreal reportedly submitted a €22m bid to sign Zézé, one of France’s most promising prospects at centre-back. Villarreal were in the market for a centre-back following Logan Costa’s serious injury

Inter Milan and AFC Bournemouth were reportedly monitoring Zézé in recent months, but their approaches fell short of Nantes’ valuation of their Academy product. The 20-year-old left-footed centre-back has played 35 games with Canariesalthough his previous campaign was blighted by a serious ankle injury. According to Ouest-France, promoted Saudi Pro League side Neom SC has also submitted a bid, but lower than Villarreal’s.
