Two years after Bro and a year after becoming the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan returned to films with long in the making period epic Hari Hara Veera Mallu.
The film was partially directed by Krish Jagarlamudi who left it midway due to constant delays and was later completed by producer A. M. Rathnam's elder son A. M. Jyothi Krishna.
Besides Pawan Kalyan, the film also starred Bobby Deol in the lead role as the main antagonist.

Hari Hara Veer Mallu released on July 24 amid much fanfare, however, the end box office result has turned out to be disastrous.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu Becomes Big Box Office FlopAccording to a report in Pinkvilla, the Telugu period epic opened to Rs 49.50 crore in India amid mixed to negative reviews and reactions.
However, day two suffered a massive drop in collections of around 80 percent. This means, the film made a disastrous Rs 9.50 crore on its second day taking its two-day India total to just Rs 59 crore.
The situation was even worse overseas as the film was dead on arrival. In two days, Hari Hara Veera Mallu has only made Rs 11.50 crore.
The two-day worldwide total of the film stands at extremely terrible Rs 70 crore approx. It is now expected to end its theatrical run under Rs 100 crore.

The report further stated that Hari Hara Veera Mallu is the latest addition to Pawan Kalyan’s list of consecutive box office flops and disasters in over a decade.
The only film of his which became some kind of success was the 2022 action drama Bheemla Nayak but failed to become a clean hit.
