Chief Minister wished Teej festival to the people of the state

Haryana news: On Friday evening at the residence of Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, Hariyali Teej Festival was organized with traditional gaiety, folk songs and cultural glimpses. Women from all over the state participated in it. Colorful sarees, mehndi hands, folk songs and dance shade amidst the greenery of Sawan have made the event unique. On this occasion, Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh’s wife Mitra Ghosh, Health Minister Kumari Aarti Rao, MLA Shakti Rani Sharma, Bimala Chaudhary, BJP state president Mohanlal Badauli and BJP leader Banto Kataria had a dignitaries.

The program was chaired by Mrs. Suman Saini, Vice President of Haryana State Child Welfare Council and wife of Chief Minister. He also visited the exhibition organized on Teej festival during the program.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister, while wishing women for Teej festival, said that this festival is not only a tradition, but the soul of our culture. Teej is a family, social and cultural festival, a symbol of love, unity and tradition. He particularly appreciated the presence of young girls and said that it is our responsibility to keep the new generation connected to their cultural heritage. He said that Haryana is cherished by its cultural traditions and the invaluable legacy of dignified folk culture. Our folk songs, folk music, folk dances and folk arts are the carriers of our culture. Through them, our younger generation is able to connect with its past. Their conservation and enhancement time is needed.

The Chief Minister referred to several schemes and achievements, reiterating the state government’s commitment to the empowerment of women. He said that we are determined for the upliftment of women. Half of our population are women and we cannot build a developed India until half the population will play an equal role in building the country and society.

He urged all the mothers and sisters present not to limit this festival of Teej only to rituals, but also work for environmental protection by taking inspiration from it. The greenery of Sawan will return only when we protect nature by planting trees. On this occasion, women dressed in traditional Haryanvi costumes performed folk songs, dances. At the same time, the Chief Minister presented a Kothali to the women, playing Teej’s ‘Kothali tradition’.
