London: A video of an Indian-origin entrepreneur serving tea to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his UK counterpart Keir Starmer in London is going viral on social media. UK-based Akhil Patel, who started Amala Chai, made PM Modi smile when he wittily said, "from one chai wala to another"

Notably, during his childhood, PM Modi had also sold tea at Gujarat's Vadnagar Railway station. Patel told both leaders that the tea was sourced from Assam’s tea gardens and spiced with Kerala’s flavours.

"You can have a taste of India," PM Modi could be heard saying in the viral video, when Patel mentioned that the tea was sourced from India.

The Central Government also shared the video of the Patel serving team to PM Modi and Starmer on its citizen engagement platform 'MyGovIndia'.

"PM @narendramodi shared a cup of Indian tea with UK PM @Keir_Starmer , sourced from Assam’s tea gardens and spiced with Kerala’s flavours. As he handed over the cup to PM Modi, the tea vendor smiled and said, “From one chaiwala to another.” From serving tea on railway platforms to leading 1.4 billion people, PM Modi’s journey is a powerful reminder that humble beginnings, backed by determination, can lead to extraordinary success," the X post read.

As per a report by HT, even Patel also shared the video on its official Instagram, with the caption, "Just a casual Thursday serving chai for @narendramodi @keirstarmer What a crazy day! Beyond honoured. We’ll be sharing the full story with you next week so keep your eyes peeled!”

PM Modi also shared pictures of enjoying the tea with his UK counterpart. "‘Chai Pe Charcha’ with PM Keir Starmer at Chequers...brewing stronger India-UK ties!" the Prime Minister stated.

PM Modi arrived in the United Kingdom on Wednesday for a two-day visit. During his visit, a historic free trade deal was signed between India and the UK. PM Modi also held bilateral talks with Starmer. Later on Thursday, the Prime Minister met King Charles III at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
