```htmlFounding figure of British heavy metal and the iconic frontman of Black Sabbath Ozzy Osbourne has passed away at the age of 76 after a prolonged battle with Parkinson's disease. His family released a statement on Tuesday confirming the heartbreaking news, which read, "It is with a depth of sorrow that we must share the news that our cherished Ozzy Osbourne has left us this morning. He was surrounded by family and love. We kindly request that everyone honors our family's privacy during this difficult time."
Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper Honor Ozzy Osbourne
On Friday, Johnny Depp teamed up with rock icon Alice Cooper to pay homage to the late Ozzy Osbourne during a sold-out performance at London's O2 Arena. Cooper took a moment during his set to pay tribute to the legendary Black Sabbath frontman, stating, "Even though we all anticipated it with Ozzy, it still took us by surprise when it happened."
Johnny Depp then delighted the audience by joining the stage mid-performance, guitar in hand. Depp, a longtime friend and collaborator of Cooper in the Hollywood Vampires band, later performed Black Sabbath’s timeless hit Paranoid as a mark of respect. Dressed in an Ozzy T-shirt, Cooper mentioned that this song was a tribute to the late musician.
Subsequently, the duo also performed the classic School's Out alongside original band members Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith, and Michael Bruce. At Wembley Stadium, Liam and Noel Gallagher also honored Ozzy Osbourne during their Oasis reunion concert, dedicating their performance to him, according to DailyMail.
RIP Ozzy Osbourne
For those unaware, just two weeks prior, Ozzy had taken the stage at what was announced as Black Sabbath’s final concert, a festival named Back to the Beginning, held in his and the band’s hometown of Birmingham, England. This event served as a grand tribute to the legendary band, featuring performances from notable spiritual successors such as Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Alice in Chains, and more.
In January 2020, after two years of worsening health issues, Osbourne revealed that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
The legendary Ozzy Osbourne is survived by his wife and five children.
