N jagadeesan replaces rishabh pant: Team India led by Shubman Gill managed to draw the fourth Test match played at Manchester, but India has suffered a major setback as Rishabh Pant which was injured during the match. After the match was over, the BCCI has updated on Rishabh Pant’s injury.
The update given by the BCCI on Pant’s injury states that he will not be able to play the fifth and last match of the series due to injury during the Manchester Test. In his place, unaccounted wicketkeeper N Jagdishan has been included in the team. The BCCI said that Rishabh Pant has a fracture in his leg, due to which he will not be able to participate in the fifth Test.
On the very first day of the Manchester Test, Rishabh Pant was trying to play reverse sweep off the ball of Chris Woakes, during which the ball hit his right leg directly. He had to leave the ground due to injury and pain. After which the doctors advised him to rest for 6 weeks. However, when needed, he also came to bat the second day and completed his half -century.
According to a press release issued by BCCI, “Rishabh Pant has been out of the fifth and final Test of the series due to fracture in the right leg during the fourth Test against England in Manchester. The BCCI’s medical team will monitor their progress and wish to recover early.
In the release released by the BCCI, it has also been informed that the Men Selection Committee has included Narayan Jagdishan in place of Rishabh Pant for the fifth Test starting from 31 July 2025 at Kennington Oval, London.
