A darts power couple has allegedly split as former pro Vincent van der Voort claims that women's world No.2 Fallon Sherrock and Grand Slam quarter-finalist Cameron Menzies have gone their separate ways.

Sherrock and Menzies - neither of whom have confirmed the split - were together for four years after first meeting through an online darts league in Southampton and enjoying a first date at KFC. The pair were often spotted in crowds supporting each other at big tournaments and pushed one another to improve by practicing together at home.

Van der Voort leaked news of the break-up on the Darts Draait Door podcast, when he said: "It's true, yes. But what else do you want me to say about it? I don't work for a gossip magazine. I don't know the exact reason either. She told me and I didn't ask why."

Fans initially became suspicious of a possible split when Menzies was nowhere to be seen during Sherrock's trip to the Women's World Matchplay in Blackpool, despite the fact he had played in the men's event only days prior.

Sherrock still managed to make it to the final, where she lost to Lisa Ashton, while Menzies was knocked out in the first round after a 10-2 thrashing at the hands of Danny Noppert, during which he posted a tournament-low average of 81.35.

Menzies previously shed light on his home life with Sherrock when he said: "I'm quite lucky I've got a very good partner who can play darts. It's good in the house unless she beats me and I've got to make the food! I don't like it when she beats me!"

Despite her impressive run at the Matchplay, Sherrock recently announced that she is planning to take an extended break from competitive darts next year to prioritise her health.

"My main objective this year is obviously the Worlds," she told Online Darts. "But I want to try and get to the Grand Slam this year, because I feel like if I am going to have a year out next year, I want to go out with a bang.

"I just need to sort myself out. I need to get myself well again and then once I do, the sky is the limit because I know I can do it and I know how many hours I've got to put in, what standard I've got to play. So I can do it, I just need the energy for it first."
