The second season of Wednesday is fast approaching, and one character set to steal the limelight is Enid Sinclair, portrayed by Emma Myers.

The trailer for the upcoming series suggests a grim fate for Enid, after Wednesday (played by Jenna Ortega) foresaw her death in a psychic vision, leading fans to speculate about her future.

As Enid steps into the spotlight, viewers are eager to learn more about the actress, who initially auditioned for the role of Wednesday but confessed it was a catastrophe.

During an interview on The Squeeze podcast, she reminisced: "What's funny is I auditioned for Wednesday at first, thought 'This is not going to go well, I can't pull it off'. Didn't pull it off, but they came back and they were like 'Oh, but, you might be good for Enid. Let's give it a shot'.

"So my team got sent the Enid breakdown and then from that point on I was like 'Ok, this feels much better'."

She winced as she remembered how the showrunners had reacted to her Wednesday audition, pleading with them "no, don't talk about it!"

When questioned if she had rewatched it, she responded: "Oh god no, too embarrassed."

In a separate chat with Elite Daily, she confessed that she bears no resemblance to Enid in real life.

She revealed: "I would consider myself more a Wednesday because I am very introverted and I don't have a lot of energy.

"Enid's very, very energetic and loves talking to people, while I, on the other hand, get really nervous."

However, she quickly took to the character of Enid and even contributed to creating Enid's vibrant style by selecting outfits, deciding on nail polish colours, and even choosing Enid's most iconic accessory: her pink snood.

The audition process was a lengthy one, with her first audition taking place in February 2021, but it wasn't until four months later that she discovered she had secured the role.

Fans are eagerly hoping that Enid will make it through the second series with the support of her best mate Wednesday.

Wednesday season 2 premieres on Netflix on August 6
