A video of SDM Rinku Singh Rahi, who was recently appointed in Puwaan Tehsil of Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In this video, IAS officers are seen publicly sitting in front of the crowd of lawyers. The incident took place on Tuesday, the day he took charge.

Start with a punishment given to a scribe

The incident started when SDM Rahi saw a person urinating in the open in the tehsil premises. The person was identified as a scribe of a lawyer. Rahi punished him for a sit-in to defecate in a public place. This information spread rapidly and a large number of lawyers gathered in the tehsil premises. He started protesting, calling this action as derogatory.

SDM Rahi apologizes from stage

As the dispute increased, SDM Rinku Singh Rahi himself reached the dharna site and said to the stage, “I am the biggest officer of this tehsil. If someone has hurt anyone, I apologize to you.” After this, he publicly got up five times, while now DM Saheb’s video remains the subject of discussion on social media.

SDM gave its cleanliness

Rinku Singh Rahi, a 2022 -batch IAS officer from Hathras resident and Divyang quota, told the media that he had taken charge on the same day and was inspecting the Tehsil campus. He told that some people were defecating in the open and when they were stopped, they cited the dirt of the toilet. Rahi also said that he had symbolically punished to convince him so that he does not do so in future. This incident has now given rise to a new debate regarding administrative behavior, public courtesy and limits of rights.
