MP Weather Report: Heavy rains continue in Madhya Pradesh. Rainfall in Bhopal since Monday night has caused waterlogging in many areas. Narmada, Chambal, Sindh, Parvati and Kwari rivers are in spate due to continuous rain for several hours in the districts of western Madhya Pradesh. 14 gates of Omkareshwar Dam were opened on Tuesday to control its water level.
After the rain in Bhopal and surrounding areas, nine gates of Tawa Dam in Narmadapuram had to be opened. Five gates of Satpura Dam in Betul were opened again. One gate of Kaliyasot Dam in Bhopal was also opened. There have been reports of people being swept away at many places due to the overflowing of rivers and streams.
According to the Meteorological Department, in the five major cities of the state, the temperature recorded was 30.6 degrees in Bhopal, 31.4 degrees in Indore, 32.6 degrees in Gwalior, 31.5 degrees in Ujjain and 30.9 degrees Celsius in Jabalpur.
Due to rain, a slight decrease in day temperature was recorded in many cities. The day temperature in Pachmarhi came down to 22.2 degrees. Gwalior recorded 34.1 degrees, Sheopur 32.8 degrees, Khajuraho 32.2 degrees, Datia 31.1 degrees and Shivpuri 31.0 degrees Celsius.
On Tuesday, the lowest temperature in the state was recorded at 17 degrees Celsius in Pachmarhi, while the maximum temperature of the day was recorded at 34.1 degrees Celsius in Gwalior.
