Guwahati police took actress Nandini Kashyap into custody on Wednesday following a hit-and-run incident where a 21-year-old student lost his life in a crash involving a vehicle she is accused of driving.

Authorities reported that the crash occurred near 3 AM on July 25 in the Dakhingaon neighborhood of Guwahati. The deceased has been named as Samiul Haque , who was attending Nalbari Polytechnic , suggests a report in Hindustan Times.





CCTV footage and witness reports
A young student aged 21 was hit by a Bolero SUV while returning home, as shown in CCTV footage. The vehicle is reportedly driven by the Assamese actress. Witnesses claim that the actress did not stop to assist after the collision and fled the spot. The injured student was immediately taken to a hospital in critical condition but later passed away due to the injuries sustained.





Injuries and family allegations
Haque's family disclosed that he sustained serious head injuries and multiple fractures in both legs, according to the report. They also stated that the accident caused broken bones in his arm and thighs. Furthermore, the family has accused the Assamese actor of promising to finance his medical treatment but failing to fulfill that promise.
