Mohit Suri’s latest directorial Saiyaara starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda has now become the top grossing romantic film of Indian cinema (inflation unadjusted) in just 13 days beating Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani.
Back in 2019, Kabir Singh had broken box office records becoming top grossing romantic film of Indian cinema as well as highest grossing A-rated film.

In 2023, Vanga’s own Animal surpassed Kabir Singh to take the top spot in A-rated grossers and now Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara has toppled it in the romantic grossers.
Kabir Singh’s total lifetime domestic biz stands at Rs 278.24 crore. Saiyaara has taken it down by earning Rs 278.75 crore in just 13 days.
Saiyaara Box Office Biz Heads Towards Rs 300 Crore

Sharing the film’s box office, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “Saiyaara continues its dream run… The film has crossed the Rs 100 cr mark in *Week 2* [Friday to Wednesday], reflecting its strong hold at the box office. It is now eyeing a Rs 285 cr [+/-] total by the end of Week 2. Saiyaara [Week 2] Fri 18.50 cr, Sat 27 cr, Sun 30 cr, Mon 9.50 cr, Tue 10.50 cr, Wed 8 cr. Total: Rs 278.75 cr. India biz | Official Nett BOC | Box Office”.

The film is now expected to hit Rs 300 crore by day 16 and may end its lifetime domestic run at Rs 350 crore plus depending on how well it sustains after the release of Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 and Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri’s Dhadak 2.
