Vijay Deverakonda 's much-anticipated spy action thriller 'Kingdom' hit the big screens on July 31, and the anticipation around the movie seems to have turned into good box office numbers. The film opened to mostly positive reviews and is now officially off to a strong start.
Kingdom Movie Review
According to early estimates by trade analyst Sacnilk, 'Kingdom' collected a remarkable Rs 15.50 crore on its first day, Thursday, giving Vijay Deverakonda one of the best opening days in his career. While it doesn't surpass the Rs 16 crore opening of his 2022 release 'Liger', which turned out to be a box office failure, it is still ahead of his 2023 romantic drama 'Kushi', which managed Rs 15.25 crore on Day 1. In comparison to several mid-range releases this year, 'Kingdom' looks to be on a good pace, as the film proceeds towards the weekend.

Theatre occupancy
The film's Telugu version had a strong occupancy rate across the board on release day. As per trade reports, the overall Telugu occupancy stood at 57.87%. Morning shows had an impressive 63.56% turnout, followed by 56.52% in the afternoon, 50.12% in the evening, and picking up again to 61.27% at night. The Tamil version, on the other hand, recorded a relatively modest 19.07% occupancy, with night shows registering the highest at 29.28%.

About the film
Directed by 'Jersey' fame Gowtam Tinnanuri, 'Kingdom' brings Vijay Deverakonda into the world of espionage and national duty. He plays a constable who goes undercover for a high-stakes covert mission.
The film also stars Bhagyashri Borse, Satya Dev, and Ayyappa P Sharma in key roles.

Anirudh Ravichander's pulsating score has been one of the major highlights of the film. His music and background score have been appreciated for elevating key moments and contributing heavily to the overall cinematic experience.
Despite a few mixed comments about the film's second half, 'Kingdom' has largely won the favour of audiences with its engaging first half, impactful visuals, and emotionally charged sequences.
