The 71st National Film Awards were announced today, and Rani Mukerji bagged the Best Actress honour for her performance in ' Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway '. Speaking about her first National Award win, the actress shared that she is "overwhelmed."

Rani stated that this is her first National Award of her career, spanning 30 years. Expressing gratitude in her official statement, the actress credited the entire team of the film for its success. She said, "I thank the National Award jury for honouring my work." Rani went on to say that she shares this moment with her producer Nikkhil Advani , Monisha and Madhu, director Ashima Chibber , and everyone who worked on the movie. She called the film "a project that celebrated the resilience of motherhood."
Rani says the award gave 'validation' to her career
The actress stated that this win has given validation to her career. She said, "For me, this award is also a validation of my 30-year body of work, my dedication to my craft with which I feel a deeply spiritual connection, and my passion for cinema and this beautiful film industry of ours."


Rani further stated that there is nothing in the world compared to a mother's love and her "ferocity" to protect her child. The actress stated a mother's love is unconditional, and she has realised it after having her own kid. The statement further read, "So, this win, this film, feels deeply emotional and personal."
Rani thanks her fans for the support
The actress didn't fail to express gratitude towards her fans for showering love on her over the years. Rani added that she would have been a nobody today without the "love and unconditional support" of the fans.
Meanwhile, for the unversed, the film is based on a real story and was released in March 2023.
