UP TGT-PGT 2025 Exam Dates Out: PGT in October, TGT in December, TET in January — Know Full Schedule and Details

The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board (UPSESSB) has officially released the exam schedule for the Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), and Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for the year 2025–26. Aspirants aiming to secure government-aided teaching positions in Uttar Pradesh now have clarity on their upcoming examination dates.

According to the notification released on August 1, 2025, the PGT examinations will be conducted on October 15 and 16, 2025, followed by the TGT exams scheduled for December 18 and 19, 2025. The TET exams will take place on January 29 and 30, 2026.

These exams are critical for candidates seeking permanent teaching roles in government-aided intermediate schools across Uttar Pradesh. The selection process, particularly for TGT and PGT, is part of a large recruitment drive covering over 4,000 positions.

The UPSESSB clarified that admit cards for all exams will be released 10 days prior to the respective exam dates. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards by visiting the official website: upsessb.pariksha.nic.in.

To access their admit cards, applicants will need to provide:

  • Registration Number

  • Date of Birth

  • Security Code (Captcha)

What Will the Admit Card Contain?

The admit card is a vital document for exam day. It will include:

  • Name and address of the exam center

  • Exam date and shift timing

  • Reporting time

  • Candidate’s photograph and signature

  • Essential instructions for exam day

Candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully and carry a valid photo ID along with the admit card on the examination day.

Recruitment Details: 4,163 Vacancies Across TGT & PGT Posts

This recruitment drive is aimed at filling 4,163 teaching posts, with 3,539 vacancies for TGT and 624 for PGT roles. These positions are spread across various subjects and schools within the state’s government-aided sector. The official notification was earlier published on the UPSESSB website, and the online application window had remained open from June 9 to July 16, 2022.

The merit list for TGT and PGT recruitment will be prepared based on candidates’ performance in the written examination. This makes the exam a crucial step toward securing a permanent teaching position.
