Hyderabad: There are films that stay close to people long after their release. Manam is one of them. More than a decade after it first came out, the Telugu classic is now finding a new home; this time in Japan.

On August 8, 2025, Manam will be released in Japanese theatres. Adding to the excitement, Akkineni Nagarjuna will join one of the screenings virtually to meet and talk to his fans in Japan, who fondly address him as “Nag Sama.”

First released in 2014, the film is remembered for bringing three generations of the Akkineni family: Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni (Cameo) together on screen. The story, built around family bonds and a touch of fantasy, remains one of the most cherished Telugu films, holding a deep emotional connection with the audience.

For fans in Japan, this release is more than a movie screening. It is a rare chance to watch a beloved film on the big screen and share a moment with the actor they admire, even from across the seas.
