Often people think that eating more spices and sharp things causes hemorrhoids, yes it can happen, but the real reason is to stress the stool and more emphasis when the bowel movement. Constipation occurs when we eat wrong things.
What should not be eaten during menstruation?
Brinjal: This is a very common vegetable, but it is very harmful for piles patients. According to Ayurveda, brinjal increases bile and vata dosha, which increases the pain of hemorrhoids. Brinjal contains compound called solanin which causes inflammation in the intestines, which can also cause gas and constipation. You can eat milk, pumpkin and kheer instead.
Cauliflower and cabbage: For piles patients, these vegetables have a high amount of fiber, causing gas and swelling, which increases the pain and inflammation of hemorrhoids. Cabbage contains carbohydrates called rafinose, which slows down digestion, causing more gas to form. Which can bother piles patients. Apart from this, you can also consume spinach and fenugreek.
Onion and Garlic: Both onion and garlic are very hot in nature. Which increases both pain and swelling of piles. If you want to consume them, then eat them in very small amounts and do not eat raw at all.
Green chili and capsicum: If you have a problem of hemorrhoids, do not eat red chili, green chillies, dry chillies, yellow chillies and capsicum at all. According to Ayurveda, chili increases bile a lot, which increases inflammation and pain of hemorrhoids. They contain a compound called capsicin which bothers the digestive system.
Pea: Pea increases the Vata Dosha, which causes gas and flatulence problems and slows down digestion. Instead, you can eat vegetables like pumpkin and turnip.
Jackfruit: If you have a problem of piles then stay away from jackfruit. It is very heavy, which slows down digestion and causes constipation.
What should we eat: Vegetables like milk thistle, spinach and pumpkin can be beneficial. They are cold and mild in nature.
