New Drug Price India. The Government of India has fixed the prices of 35 essential medicines, giving relief to the general public. The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has notified the decision. This decision has been taken by the National Drug Pricing Authority (NPPA) under the provisions of Drug Price Control Order (DPCO), 2013.
These drugs include drugs useful in pain relievers, antibiotic, heart disease, diabetes and mental health treatment. Crores of patients are expected to get relief from new pricing.
The NPPA said that the new prices are except GST and if applicable, it will be added separately. Companies will have to give updated price list in the IPDMS system through Form-V as per these new rates. Also, retailers and dealers have to clearly display the list of new prices in their institutions.
The government has clarified that the old rates of these drugs have now been canceled and punitive action can be taken under DPCO, 2013 and Essential Commodities Act, 1955 for violating new orders.
