New Drug Price India.The Government of India has fixed the prices of 35 essential medicines, giving relief to the general public. The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has notified the decision. This decision has been taken by the National Drug Pricing Authority (NPPA) under the provisions of Drug Price Control Order (DPCO), 2013.

These drugs include drugs useful in pain relievers, antibiotic, heart disease, diabetes and mental health treatment. Crores of patients are expected to get relief from new pricing.

The NPPA said that the new prices are except GST and if applicable, it will be added separately. Companies will have to give updated price list in the IPDMS system through Form-V as per these new rates. Also, retailers and dealers have to clearly display the list of new prices in their institutions.

Selected medicines and new prices:

  • Esiclofenac, paracetamol and tripsin camotripsin tablet (Dr Reddy’s) – 13 per tablet
  • This tablet was marked by Cadila – 15.01
  • Amoxicillin and Potassium Clavullanet Oral Suspension (Zydus Healthcare) – 3.32 per ml.
  • Atorvastatin 40mg and Clopidograil 75mg Tablet – 25.61 per tablet
  • Atorvastatin and Ezatimib Tablet – 19.86 to 30.47 per tablet
  • Atorvastatin, Clopidograil and Aspirin Capsules (Synocen Pharma) – ₹ 5.88 per capsule
  • Bilastine and Montelokast Tablet – 22.78 per tablet
  • Empagliflozin, Citagliptin and Metformin hydrochloride – 16.50 per tablet
  • Diclofenac injection – 31.77 per mill
  • Collisional Drops for Vitamin D – Rate notified

The government has clarified that the old rates of these drugs have now been canceled and punitive action can be taken under DPCO, 2013 and Essential Commodities Act, 1955 for violating new orders.
