Bollywood is a place where one can find everything-from affairs and divorces to love and weddings. Today, we will discuss an actress who, despite knowing that her husband was cheating, chose to stay with him.

She is none other than Mumtaz.
When Mumtaz Revealed That She Knew About Her Husband's Affair
In the 1960s and 70s, Mumtaz was one of the actresses deeply loved by the audience for her performances. From her strong screen presence to her beauty, fans admired everything about her.
In a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Mumtaz revealed that she belongs to an Iranian family and grew up in Mumbai. Earlier, Mumtaz lived in Lata Mangeshkar's neighborhood in Walkeshwar and later shifted to Govind Mahal in Marine Drive, where Jaikishan ji's house was located.
After establishing herself as a leading actress in the industry, Mumtaz married businessman Mayur Madhvani in 1974. However, a few years into the marriage, Mumtaz admitted that her husband had an extra-marital affair, and despite knowing this, she could not bring herself to end the marriage.
In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Mumtaz said that men often have affairs secretly. "My husband had only one," she shared. Mumtaz further revealed, "He admitted to me that he liked a girl in the US, but he also said that he would never leave me. I respect his honesty."
Mumtaz was so hurt by her husband's infidelity that she returned to India and had a brief affair herself. The veteran actress said, "After that, I started feeling lonely. I was a little overbearing, I was unhappy. So I came to India. When there are thorns all around and someone brings a rose, one gets carried away. But that was nothing special; it was just a small phase which ended soon."
When Mumtaz Quit at the Peak of Her Career
Mumtaz married businessman Mayur Madhvani in 1974, and she admitted that her in-laws did not want her to continue working in films after marriage. Speaking to Vicky Lalwani, Mumtaz said, "At the time of my marriage, the Madhvani family said that I cannot work anymore. At that time, I was the highest-paid actress. Who else would charge Rs 7.5 lakh for a film? But when they refused, I quit working."
