Jackie Chung, who plays Laurel, Belly’s mother, recently opened up about her character and the plot of the season in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. While talking about the rift between the mother-daughter duo after the marriage announcement, Chung explained her character’s actions, saying, “I feel like Laurel isn’t even being that prescriptive, she’s just being like, ‘Keep an open mind, like, keep your opportunities open'”.

After the first four episodes of the show had aired, with the final one ending on Laurel and Belly’s fight at the family lunch, Chung shared some insights into what fans can expect from future episodes! She stated that she feels that Jenny Han (creator of the shows) knows what the fans want and how everything has to be.
She also warned that the rollercoaster ride is only going to get much bigger from now onwards up until the big finale. She also added, “I think some of the things that they’re looking for will be there, and then there’ll be other surprises, and so I just hope that they enjoy it and get what they want out of it”.

Jackie Chung also shared how much she’ll miss the show once the final episode airs in September next month. She shared in the interview that, “I’m just gonna miss the time with this group of people, the cast and the crew. I do feel like we built a family, and it’s always lovely to be with them.
