Arsenal star Bukayo Saka may have sent a subtle hint over Arsenal’s pursuit of Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze.

The England man has emerged as a target for Arsenal this window, with Mikel Arteta believed to be a big fan of the player who was the hero for Crystal Palace in their FA Cup final win over Manchester City back in May.

Eze has a release clause of £67.5 million, football.london understands that it expires before the start of the new Premier League season. That, however, will not change Palace’s valuation of Eze.

The Eagles are understood to want in the region of £35 million up front in any deal this summer. The player himself is also understood to be keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium and has prioritised the transfer over other destinations.

To continue to work comfortably within UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations, Arsenal may first look to move on some fringe talents to free up space on the wage bill before making an official move for Eze.

A transfer for the Palace man would see him join up with some of his international teammates at the Emirates Stadium. One of those is Saka.

Ahead of the new season, Saka has posted pictures on his Instagram story showing him visiting the New Balance shop in London. In one of the pictures there is a big picture of Saka, alongside a big display of New Balance footballs.

Just in front of the picture of the Arsenal man in a smaller picture of Eze, which could be seen as a potential hint at the two being teammates at domestic level next season. It could, however, be just a coincidence with Eze also having a partnership with New Balace as Saka does.

The 27-year-old played 43 times in all competitions for Palace last season, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists. He shows no sign of slowing down, with a goal in his last two pre-season games for the club over the last few days.
