Jaden Zhang, the daughter of Canadian actress Christy Chung, has drawn praise online for her striking appearance while celebrating her 17th birthday.

According to The StarChung shared a series of photos on Instagram featuring herself, Jaden, and her youngest daughter, 15-year-old Cayla Zhang.

“Happy birthday to my beautiful Jaden,” the 55-year-old actress captioned her post. “Always remember that on your journey ahead, I will always be here for you! Have a blast.”

Jaden and Cayla are Chung’s daughters from her second marriage to Taiwanese musician Jon Yen. Although they were originally named Jaden and Cayla Yen, Chung later changed their surnames to Zhang—her current husband Shawn Zhang’s surname—after observing the close bond between him and her children, Yahoo! Style Singapore reported.

The birthday post quickly sparked admiration on social media, with many commenting on how both girls had inherited their mother’s beauty.

“Jaden is really beautiful,” one Instagram user wrote.

Another added: “Gorgeous like their mama!”

Born in Canada to a Chinese-Vietnamese father and a Vietnamese mother, Chung rose to fame after winning the Miss Chinese International Pageant in 1993, despite not speaking Chinese at the time. Her breakout role came the same year in “The Bride with White Hair 2,” launching a successful career in Chinese-language cinema. She has since starred in a number of films alongside stars such as Stephen Chow and Jet Li.

Chung married actor Shawn Zhang, 43, in 2016 after meeting him on a Chinese dating show. It is her third marriage, following previous unions with a Belgian man in 1998 and Jon Yen in 2003.
