Social media users are mourning the loss of Atheist Krishna, a beloved Photoshop artist and digital creator known for his humorous memes. The online creator died on July 23 after facing complications from pneumonia. His death was confirmed by his brother in a WhatsApp message to an X user.

Who was Atheist Krishna?

Popular internet creator Krishana, who used the social media handle “Atheist Krishna”, was well known in the online sphere for his clever memes and satire. He also used to make emotional restorations of old tattered photographs, moving and entertaining netizens. His creative work was so popular that it was also recognised by actor Akshay Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a video message, Akshay Kumar praised Krishna’s work and said that one of his memes even made the PM laugh after he shared it with him. “Hi Krishna, this is Akshay,” the actor had said in the message. “Some of my friends follow your content and showed me the incredible work you do with Photoshop to bring smiles to people’s faces. I recently showed one of your memes to our Prime Minister, and he had a hearty laugh. Keep spreading joy with your clean and honest humour.”

Krishna had pinned the message to his social media page.

The news of his death was shared by X user @NainaVers in a post with screenshots of a message from Krisha’s brother, who told the user that he passed away due to Pneumonia at 4.30 am on Tuesday.

The digital creator had been unwell for several weeks and was preparing for surgery after he contracted pneumonia.

Many netizens shared their tributes to the internet creator and recalled his posts and how they helped them. Krishna’s expression of his political views which were deemed nationalist by some of his followers, had also garnered criticism occasionally.

Author Anand Ranganathan called Krishna “a brilliant mind” and “a kind-hearted soul.” Ranganathan shared one of his works and said it had managed to convey its message with “a gentle smile.”

Another social media user @theskindoctor13 shared, “He was a good friend. We couldn’t meet in person because he was very reserved, but we interacted a lot on and beyond Twitter. He was humble, sincere, and kind. With his jokes, witty Photoshops, constructive criticism, and friendly banter, he truly was a master of OG Twitter.”
