Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The flagship day programme of the district on Independence Day will be organised at RAPTC ground located at Mahesh Guard Line. Extensive preparations for the ceremony have begun.

The district administration and all other departments have geared up for the preparations. Collector Asheesh Singh reviewed preparations of the ceremony here on Monday.

He reviewed the programmes to be organized on the occasion of Independence Day in the district on August 15. He has assigned responsibilities to officers of various departments for the function to be organised at Mahesh Guard Line on the occasion of Independence Day. It was told that Independence Day celebration will be done as per guidelines given by the state government.

Singh directed that cultural programmes should be organised on the occasion this year also. He said that all officers and employees should be compulsorily involved in holding this national festival.

Flag hoisting should be done compulsorily in all government offices and institutions. The flag hoisting programme will be organised from Gram Panchayat to the district level.

He also gave instructions to do electrical decoration at all government offices, institutions, major buildings, squares, etc. He said that in the function, officers/employees and institutions doing excellent work throughout the year should be awarded.

It should be ensured that the award goes to those who really deserve it. For this, instructions were given to invite proposals by August 12. It was told that the rehearsal for the function will be held on August 13 at 9 am.
