Sanchar Saathi: With the advent of smartphones, our lives have certainly become much easier. Our banking details, photos, email, ID, and personal information are present. In such a situation, if the phone is lost or stolen, not only is the device lost, but our privacy and security also come under threat. To solve this problem, the Government of India has launched the Sanchar Saathi Portal, which helps in tracking and blocking lost or stolen smartphones. Let us know how it works and how you can also track your lost or stolen phone with the help of this portal.

Sanchar Saathi Portal

Sanchar Saathi Portal is based on Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) technology. With its help, a mobile can be tracked and blocked using its IMEI number. If your mobile is lost, you can block your device through this portal by following some easy steps. Let us know how this process works.

How to track a lost or stolen phone?

Go to the website sancharsaathi.gov.in on your mobile or computer.

Click on “Register Here” on the homepage.

Register by entering your name, mobile number, email, and password.

After this, complete the verification by entering the OTP received on the mobile.

After the registration is complete, login to the website from your account.

Click on the “Find Stolen/Lost Device” option.

Fill the IMEI number, brand, model, photo of purchase receipt, date of loss and police FIR number along with the location.

Upload a copy of the FIR and a valid identity proof (like Aadhaar card).

After login, select the “IMEI Search” option.

Enter the IMEI number to see the possible location of your phone.

If you want to prevent anyone from misusing your phone, go to the “Block Stolen/Lost Mobile” option.

Select the reason and click on “Block”.

After this, your phone will be blocked on the network and no one will be able to use it.

Note, once your phone is found, you can also unblock it from the same portal.
