Bhasmarti:- Bhasma Aarti is performed in the Mahakaleshwar temple, which is the only Jyotirlinga in the world where this practice is going on.

Nagachandreshwar Temple:- On the third floor of the temple is the Nagachandreshwar temple, which opens only for darshan only on the day of Nagpanchami.

Center of Calculation:- The Mahakaleshwar Temple was also considered a central point for calculating Indian time in ancient times.
