• 1 cup yellow moong dal
• 1 teaspoon ginger-green chili paste
• 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
• Taste salt
• 1 teaspoon cumin
• 1 teaspoon oil
• 2 tablespoons finely chopped coriander
• 1 teaspoon asafoetida

Method of preparation:

• First wash the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 4-5 hours.
• After the lentils swell, remove the water and grind it in a mixer.
• Now prepare a thick batter by mixing some water in ground lentils.
• Add turmeric, salt, ginger-pepper paste, cumin, asafetida and coriander and keep the batter for 10 minutes so that all the tastes are well.
• After this, heat a non-stick griddle and spread some oil on it.
• After heating the griddle on medium flame, spread the batter on the pan with the help of a splash.
• Cook the cheela on low flame till it turns golden.
• After cooking on one side, turn the cheela and bake it well from the other side.
• Serve hot cheela with green chutney, tomato sauce or curd.
