New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) has launched the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 official website. Candidates can complete the online GATE registration and application process for admission to the Masters of Technology (MTech) or research programme by visiting the GATE GOAPS 2026 official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

As per the schedule, the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) will begin on August 25. The last date to complete the GATE 2026 registration is September 25. The GATE 2026 registration process with a late fee will end on October 6. The exam conducting authority will hold the GATE exam on February 7, 8, 14, 15 in two shifts. Shift 1 will be from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and shift 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

GATE 2026 Application Fee

The GATE 2026 application fee is Rs 2,000, while the late fee amount is Rs 2,500. For female, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons With Disability (PwD) category candidates the application fee is Rs 1,000 and the late fee amount is Rs 1,500.

GATE 2026 is a national-level exam for admission to master’s, direct doctoral and doctoral programmes in various branches of engineering, technology, science, architecture, and humanities. The GATE score is also accepted for admission to postgraduate courses without Ministry of Education (MoE) scholarship as per the official brochure. Various Public Sector Undertaking (PSUs) accepts the GATE score for recruitment. Candidates with a graduation which includes a Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree seeking admission in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) can apply.
