Ashwin Kumar ’s ' Mahavatar Narsimha ' has turned out to be the biggest surprise at the box office this month. The animated mythological film , which opened at just Rs 1.75 crore on Day 1, has now soared to a total of Rs 106.2 crore by Day 12.

What’s even more impressive is the huge jump during its second weekend, with Day 10 (Sunday) alone collecting Rs 23.1 crore, as reported by the Sacnilk website.
Myth meets momentum
Mahavatar Narsimha tells the tale of the demon king Hiranyakashyap , who declares himself god, only to be defied by his own son, Prahlad, a staunch devotee of Vishnu. Ashwin Kumar’s direction and storytelling have been widely praised for balancing tradition with visual spectacle.

Pan-India appeal fuels the fire
The film was released in multiple languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada, it is the Hindi version that has led the charge, contributing over Rs 32 crore in the first week alone. It continues its dominance into the second week. Regional language versions have also steadily picked up momentum.
