GATE 2026 notification has been released. The exam will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati. According to the official notification issued, the registration process will start from August 25 and will run till September 25. Candidates registering for GATE 2026 should have a graduation degree in engineering from any recognized university. The degree should be equivalent to B.Tech and B. Planning. The application fee for women, SC, ST, and PWD categories is Rs 1000 per paper. Whereas for all other categories, the application fee is Rs 2000 per paper. The late fee for women, SC, ST, and PWD candidates is Rs 1500 per paper and Rs 2500 for all others.

GATE 2026 Exam Date: When will the GATE 2026 exam be held?

GATE 2026 exam will be conducted on 7, 8, 14, and 15 February 2026. Admit card will be issued to all the registered candidates appearing in the exam at the scheduled time. The result will be declared on 19 March 2026. This exam will be conducted for admission to Master's / Doctoral courses in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, and Humanities.
