Bhubaneswar, Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Thursday that actress Madhuri Dixit has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the state handloom industry on the occasion of 11th National Handloom Day. Chief Minister Majhi also wished the 11th National Handloom Day. The Chief Minister of Odisha told the media persons, “We congratulate him on the occasion of the 11th National Handloom Day. Today actress Madhuri Dixit has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the state handloom industry. Efforts will be made to promote more than 1,30,000 weavers of Odisha. Ekta Expo will run for 7 days. Today, weavers have been honored today. Kumaraswamy met Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who met him in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The meeting focused on advancing major projects and strategic cooperation to strengthen the leadership of Odisha in India’s steel sector. Kumaraswamy highlighted the important role of Odisha in India’s steel production capacity and reiterated the Center’s complete commitment to speed up development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A major topic of discussion was on the expansion of the Rourkela Steel Plant under the cell. The Union Minister assured the Chief Minister that the Ministry would provide all possible assistance to remove obstacles and increase production capacity, which will help Rourkela to be a world -class steel center.
The meeting also discussed the development of new iron ore mines across the state to ensure a continuous supply of raw materials. Mr. Kumaraswamy emphasized that it is necessary to provide energy to the steel plants in both public and private sectors and to maintain India’s competitive lead globally, safe and efficient access to iron ore.
The discussion ended with a shared view of making Odisha an ideal state for industrial development, mineral development and steel excellence, which will make a meaningful contribution to self -reliant India, developed India @2047 and PM Modi’s 300 MTPA approach by 2030.
