A British lawmaker has developed his own AI version, which he claims is the first British MP’s AI prototype. According to a post on X (previously Twitter), the Labour MP for Morley and Leeds South West worked with Neural Voice, a startup artificial intelligence company, to develop a virtual version of himself.

According to the representative, the AI version will be communicating with its constituents and “help strengthen the connection between an MP’s office and the constituents we serve.” The lawmaker went on to say that this program would make help available “24/7 365 days a year.”

“Share your concerns and get assistance,” says a message on the website. My staff reviews every discussion so that we can address the topics that are most important to our community.

“Introducing the first AI prototype of a British MP,” stated Mark Sewards, who posted the link to the AI prototype on his X account. I was thrilled to collaborate with Jeremy Smith, a local company owner and constituent, when he came to me with this concept. We have to accept the AI revolution or risk falling behind.

“My constituents now have another avenue to communicate with their MP about local casework and policy matters thanks to this AI prototype model. It only allows folks another way to get in touch with me at any time of day, and it will never be able to take the place of any other job I perform,” the message said.

Seward also urged everyone to test the bot and provide comments. “I urge everyone living in Morley and Leeds South West to test AI Mark. This is only a prototype, and any feedback will be used to improve it,” he said.
