Once again Elon Musk has stood  up the AI rivalry, this time he is targeting the newly launched GPT 5. Known for making bold statements, the Tesla chief didn’t hold back. In a sharp mention to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella by saying that OpenAI could eat Microsoft alive. He further says that xAI’s present model, Grok 4, is far more advanced than GPT-5.

The comments came just after Nadella introduced GPT 5 by launching it across multiple Microsoft products, including Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft 365 Pilot, and GitHub Pilot. After the statement comes from the Elon Musk the Nadella comes with an bold reply by saying  

People have been trying for 50 years, and that’s the fun of it. Each day, you learn something new, innovate, partner, and compete. Excited for Grok 4 on Azure and looking forward to Grok 5, he says that.

Elon Musk next step  

In a recent post on X.com (formerly Twitter) Elon Musk claimed that Grok 4’s thinking abilities are better and advanced than the newly launched GPT 5 and it can easily surface the new GPT 5. Musk quickly loudened his claim by retweeting it, by adding that Grok 5 will be out before the end of this year and it will be crushingly good.

Musk has been seen in an action mode on X, including sharing multiple claims such as Grok 4 Heavy is the most powerful AI model. It  Clearly shows that the release of ChatGPT-5 has unleashed the wave of competition in the AI world. As Grok 4 has already come out as a serious challenger, future battles between the two models are expected to be intense.

It gave us hints toward upcoming competition between more tech giants gearing up to launch their own advanced AI tools, this rivalry is only going to heat up. For now, curious users can put Grok 4 and GPT-5 to the test themselves, run the same query on both models and compare the results.
