Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Mixed weather conditions is predicted to be seen on Raksha Bandhan in Madhya Pradesh. There will be bright sunshine most districts of Indore and Ujjain division. At the same time, there may be heavy rain in 9 districts of eastern and northern part.

There may be some clouds in Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur as well. Earlier on Friday also, it rained in 12 districts including Sidhi, Mandla.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in Sheopur, Morena, Panna, Katni, Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla, Seoni and Balaghat on Saturday. On the other hand, the weather will be clear in Indore, Ujjain, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Dewas, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Khargone, Dhar, Barwani, Alirajpur and Jhabua. There is a yellow alert of thunder and light rain in the remaining districts.

28.8 inches of rain in MP so far

According to the Met Department, the state has received 28.8 inches of rain so far, achieving 78 percent of the quota.

District wise, Gwalior has received 35 inches of rainfall, attaining its quota. Bhopal and Jabalpur are decently placed as well. However, half of the districts in Indore and Ujjain division less rainfall this year.

Rains to resume by next weekend

The weathermen said that there was activity of two turfs in the country, which are far away from Madhya Pradesh. Rain is expected in some districts on Saturday. At the same time, a low pressure area is expected to become active in the Bay of Bengal around August 13, hinting rains are likely to resume in coming days.
