Last month, while announcing the National Cooperative Policy of the Central Government, Cooperative Minister Amit Shah announced the introduction of app-based taxi service in the country before December. According to this, the app-based taxi service ‘Bharat Taxi’ will be started. This plan is being prepared on the initiative of the Department of Cooperation.
For this, a multi-state cooperative taxi organization has been registered with the participation of National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), Indian Agricultural Fertilizer Company Limited (IFFCO), Gujarat Cooperative Milk Development Institute and 8 cooperative organizations. A capital of Rs 300 crore has been raised for this.
The Indian Farmers Cooperative Society, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), National Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (NABARD), National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and National Cooperative Export Corporation Limited are also shareholders of Cooperative Taxi Corporation and the government will not have any direct participation in it.
