Co-Op has recalled a batch of pork pies which could cause "potentially life-threatening" reactions. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said in a statement: "If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, do not eat it."
The supermarket chain is pulling its own brand 4 Mini Pork & Pickle Pies from shelves as they contain milk which hasn't been declared on the label. This clearly means it could be a danger to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
The recall apllies to 200g packs with the use-by dates August 13, 2025, August 14, 2025, and August 16, 2025.
In its product recall notice, the FSA advised anyone who bought the product to return it to the shop from where it was bought for a full refund or replacement, subject to availability.
It added that if the product was purchased online, you can receive a refund by calling 0330 041 7737, contacting Co-op's careline on 0800 0686 727 or emailing its product returns inbox.
A milk intolerance isn't usually life-threatening, but it can cause symptoms such as stomach pain, bloating and diarrhoea.
Co-op has been approached for comment.
