The much-awaited survey for the widening of the Champa Chowk to Jalna Road began on Monday. Considering the opposition of the residents, a police deployment was present during the survey.

The town planning and CSMC anti-encroachment squad started the survey for the proposed 30-meter road on Monday morning. The measurement of around 600 properties that are obstructing the road widening was done.

However, the demolition of these properties will begin after proper marking of the road. After the road widening, the distance from the Collector's office to Jalna Road, which presently takes around 45 minutes on a motorcycle, can be covered within seven to ten minutes.

The survey of the obstructing properties was done amid strict police deployment. Most of these properties are residential; hence the action on these properties will be taken only after August 15. After completing the survey of the properties, the marking of the properties will be done as per the total station survey and DP plan.

The administration has already directed that the demolition of the properties should be done only after proper marking and serving notices. The survey of the properties from the Bhavaninagar to the Jalna Road belt started on Tuesday.
