Emmerdale viewers believe they've figured out who will rescue Vinny Dingle from the clutches of villain Mike, and it's a returning legend.
Audiences are aware that Vinny (Bradley Johnson) has been grappling with his sexuality after developing feelings for Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah).
After attempting to kiss Kammy, Vinny has since tried to suppress his emotions. Torn about what to do next, especially with his wedding to Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) looming, Vinny sought solace online.
While participating in an online forum, Vinny began conversing with a man named Mike (Macaulay Cooper), who claimed to be experiencing a similar situation regarding his sexuality.
The two eventually met, and in Tuesday's episode (12 August), a frantic Mike arrived in the village, alleging that his girlfriend Kate had thrown him out after snooping through his phone, reports the Daily Star.
With Gabby away at a spa, Vinny invited Mike over to discuss their situations. However, the situation took a shocking turn when Mike confessed that everything he had told Vinny was fabricated, including his name.
Mike then threatened to ruin Vinny's life, assaulting him violently before demanding £10,000 or he would reveal all.
However, fans now suspect that a former resident of the Dales is set to return to confront Mike and save Vinny. Online speculation suggests that Tina Dingle (Samantha Power) may be making a comeback.
Tina, a notorious troublemaker, first appeared on the soap in 1994 and is the daughter of soap legend Zak (Steve Halliwell). She departed the Dales in 1996, but returned last year for Zak's funeral. In a stunning revelation, it emerged that Tina is Vinny's biological mother.
On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, speculating about Tina's potential return, one viewer commented: "Tina Dingle should come back and sort that Mike out! Poor Vinny." Another fan suggested: "It could be her redemption storyline".
A third supporter agreed: "Yeah they might bring her back and turn her nice again."
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
