Arjun Kapoor , in an earlier interview, had opened up about the unique and emotional journey of bonding with his step-sisters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor . Born to Boney Kapoor and Sridevi, Janhvi and Khushi grew up away from Arjun and his sister Anshula, children from Boney’s first marriage to Mona Shourie Kapoor. For years, the two sides barely interacted. But in 2018, tragedy struck with the passing of Sridevi, bringing the siblings into each other’s lives in an unexpected way. In a throwback, Arjun Kapoor shared insights into his emotional journey of connecting with step-sisters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.

Arjun Kapoor on meeting Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor
He said “There are two very bad moments in our lives which have got us together. We will always be like broken pieces; trying to fill up the gaps to be in each other’s life. We are a support system to each other," Arjun shared.
Arjun revealed that he met Janhvi and Khushi nearly 20 years after they were born. “I’m 35 now, Anshula is 28, we’re matured adults, so merging just like that isn’t easy,” he explained. For him, the process has been about accepting imperfections and respecting differences. “Imperfection is fascinating, because you learn to coexist and respect the differences. In a way, we are similar too, we have our dad’s genes.” He made it clear that it’s not about pretending to be a “perfect family” but about slowly finding ways to connect.
Arjun Kapoor on the relationship dynamics
Candid as always, Arjun admitted that while there’s more love and concern now, they’re still not “one unit.” “We all have an amazing time together, but it can’t be perfect. We’re still figuring each other out,” he said. There are days when conversations flow easily with their father, Boney Kapoor, and other days when opinions clash. But for Arjun, the effort to evolve and create a happy space is what matters. “We’re learning to coexist, and that’s enough for now,” he added.
