Kidney Health Warning Signs: Kidneys keep the body healthy 24 hours a day without stopping, but if the initial symptoms are ignored, the disease can increase. Know the signs of kidney failure.

Kidney Health Warning Signs: Our kidney is an important part of the body that works 24 hours a day without stopping. It performs many important functions like cleaning the blood, removing toxins and excess water, maintaining the balance of minerals and producing hormones. But the biggest specialty and drawback of the kidney is that it keeps working for a long time without any complaint and by the time the problem appears, the disease has progressed a lot.

On this, Dr. LK Tripathi explains that ignoring the early symptoms of kidney disease can lead to serious kidney disease in the future.

Pay attention to changes in urine

  • The first and most common sign of kidney failure is a change in urine
  • dark or foamy urine
  • too little or too much urination
  • Frequent need to urinate at night
  • Bleeding in the urine

Swelling in the face and legs

When the kidneys fail, the excess water cannot come out of the body, which causes swelling in the feet, ankles, hands and around the eyes. If you see swelling on your face as soon as you wake up in the morning, do not take it lightly.

Constant fatigue and weakness

When the kidneys fail, the waste material present in the blood cannot be cleaned, due to which the body starts feeling lethargic and weak. Also, there may be a deficiency of red blood cells (anemia), which increases fatigue.

Loss of appetite and nausea

Due to kidney problems, toxins get accumulated in the body, which leads to loss of appetite, feeling like vomiting and a metallic taste in the mouth.

Itching and dryness of the skin

Kidneys maintain the balance of minerals and nutrients. If it malfunctions, phosphorus may increase in the body, which causes itching and dryness in the skin.

respiratory distress

Due to kidney failure, water can accumulate in the body and reach the lungs, which can cause problems like shortness of breath or heaviness in the chest.

Tips to keep your kidneys healthy

  • drink enough water daily
  • eat less salt and processed foods
  • Keep blood pressure and sugar level under control
