Prime Minister’s new mission

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a ‘Deep Water Exploration Mission’ to make India self -sufficient in the field of energy. He said that this mission is an important step towards the goal of making the country a developed nation. It focuses on the discovery of hidden oil and gas reserves in the deep sea. Due to the drying up of traditional oil areas, many countries are looking towards hydrocarbon resources present in the depths of the sea, and India is also moving actively in this direction.

The main objectives of this mission are the following: an increase in domestic production, reducing dependence on imports.
