Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a ‘Deep Water Exploration Mission’ to make India self -sufficient in the field of energy. He said that this mission is an important step towards the goal of making the country a developed nation. It focuses on the discovery of hidden oil and gas reserves in the deep sea. Due to the drying up of traditional oil areas, many countries are looking towards hydrocarbon resources present in the depths of the sea, and India is also moving actively in this direction.
The main objectives of this mission are the following: an increase in domestic production, reducing dependence on imports. Strengthening energy security, so that global energy value can reduce the impact of volatility. To create creation and economic development of new jobs through activities to oil and gas production. Developing advanced techniques required for exploration in deep sea, which will also increase India’s technical capabilities.
The Prime Minister referred to the spirit of ‘Samudra Manthan’, which reflects the ambition and possible results of this mission. India is dependent on imports for a large part of its energy needs, and the ‘Deep Water Exploration Mission’ can play an important role in making the country self -sufficient in the field of energy. This will not only strengthen the economy, but will also help India to establish a major player in the global energy landscape.
