There is good news for those going home during festivals. This time, the pocket will not be light on the rail travel during Diwali and Chhath. Indian Railways and IRCTC have launched the Round Trip Package scheme for passengers, in which you will get up to 20% discount on train tickets. This offer has been brought only in view of the festival rush, so that passengers get easy booking, and the crowd in trains can also be reduced.

What is IRCTC's Round Trip Package offer?

This scheme is currently being implemented as an experiment. Under this, if a passenger books both the tickets for coming and going together, then up to a 20% discount will be available on the base fare of the return ticket. This offer will be available only to those passengers who book both tickets for the same passenger name, same class, and to and fro from the same station.

For how long will you get the benefit on the journey
This scheme will be applicable for travel on two different dates. The journey should be between 13 October and 26 October 2025. At the same time, the return journey should be between 17 November and 1 December 2025. The special thing is that the rule of 60-day booking will not be applicable for return tickets, that is, you will be able to plan easily.

When will train ticket booking start?

The booking of this special offer will start from 14 August 2025. First, you have to book the ticket for coming; after that, the return ticket will have to be booked with the 'Connecting Journey' feature, only then will you get the discount.

Where and in which trains will the offer not be available?

This offer will be applicable in all classes and trains (including special trains), but this facility will not be available in trains with flexi fare. Also, once the ticket is booked, no refund, change, or other discount will be available for it.

It becomes difficult to get train tickets during festivals, in such a situation, this Round Trip Package scheme of IRCTC can prove to be very beneficial for the passengers. In this, not only will you get a chance to get a confirmed seat, but there will also be a good saving on the return ticket.
