Old friends Blake Lively and Taylor Swift have apparently fallen out of favor with each other, as sources said the pair is “no longer on talking terms.” The reported rift is said to be the result of Lively’s current legal feud with Justin Baldoni, her co-star on the film It Ends With Us, in which Swift was thrust into the case unexpectedly.
New Song Fuels Rumors Among Fans
Taylor Swift’s recently teased track, “Ruin the Friendship,” from her upcoming album Life of a Showgirl, has sparked speculation among fans that it references her strained bond with Lively. While Swift has not addressed the rumors directly, insiders close to the singer claim that the Grammy-winner was “deeply hurt” after being subpoenaed by Baldoni’s legal team, forcing her involvement in the lawsuit.
Although the rumors have been circulating, sources also indicate that “Ruin the Friendship” was penned on the London stop of Swift’s Eras Tour prior to the legal tensions. This timing is causing suspicions regarding whether the song is actually all about Blake, though many remain convinced that the connection exists.
Fallout and Efforts to Rebuild
The so-called rift started when Swift was subpoenaed to testify in court, even as Blake’s camp tried to exclude her from the legal case. The action was said to put a strain in their long-time friendship that had started in 2014 and also included Swift being named godmother to Lively’s daughters.

Sources indicate that though the two women are “taking some space,” efforts are being made to restore their relationship. Nevertheless, insiders concede that things “aren’t the same as before.”
