CBSE Board Exam Fees: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a big decision regarding the exam fees of 10th and 12th board examinations. CBSE has increased the exam fees for 10th and 12th board examinations. The increased fees will be applicable from the academic session 2025-26, i.e., the current academic session.

A proposal in this regard was brought in the 141st meeting of the Governing Body of CBSE held on 25 June 2025, which has been approved. Now the increased fees will be applicable from this session. Let us know how much the fee will be for the board exam.

Fee increased by Rs 20 per subject
CBSE has increased the fees for 10th and 12th board examinations by Rs 20 per subject. That is, now the students appearing for the CBSE board examination will have to pay Rs 20 more per subject.

According to the data available from CBSE, by the year 2024, the students of class 10th and 12th had to deposit a fee of Rs 300 per subject for the board examination, which has now increased to Rs 320. Similarly, board examinees had to pay a fee of Rs 1500 for 5 subjects. Now, board examinees will have to pay a fee of Rs 1600.

Practical fees also increased.
CBSE has increased the practical fee along with the board exam fee, under which the practical fee has been increased by Rs 10 per subject. That is, now the students of class 12th will have to pay a fee of Rs 160 instead of Rs 150 per subject for practical. Similarly, the registration fee for the students of classes 9th and 11th has also been increased by Rs 20.

CBSE has also given the reason behind the decision to increase the examination fees of class 10th and 12th. CBSE has said that there has been no change in the examination fees since 2020, while the expenditure has increased during this period. In such a situation, a decision has been taken to increase the fee marginally. CBSE said that keeping in mind the interests of the students, the fees have been increased by only 6 percent.

At the same time, CBSE said that board examination fees are the main source of income. At the same time, receipts of migration certificates have also stopped. Due to this, income has also been affected.
