Pkl 2025: Tamil Thalaivas, who is out of the league stage, would like to make a strong comeback this time, while performing disappointing in the last 2 seasons of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). For this, the team has worked on its weaknesses. Let me tell you, since debuting in Pro Kabaddi in 2017, Thalaivas has been able to make it to the playoffs (season 9, 2022) only once.

Champion coach was added to the team

Under the double-coach system of Udayakumar (Head Coach) and Dharmaraj Cherlathan (Strategy Coach) last season, Thalaivas won only 8 out of 22 matches and ranked 9th in the points table. Prior to season 12, the team excluded both coaches and appointed two -time PKL winning coach Sanjay Balayan as the new head coach of the team.

Balayan had earlier given the title to Patna Pirates (Season 3) and Jaipur Pink Panthers (Season 9). The team has returned to a traditional coaching structure by appointing Suresh Kumar as assistant coach.

Core team did not change

Despite failing to make a place in the playoffs in the 11th season of Pro Kabaddi League, Thalaivas retained his core players and has included 5 new players in the auction of season 12 starting on August 29.

Strength

Tamil Thalaivas has one of the strongest reding units of this season. The team has bought Arjun Deshwal for ₹ 1.405 crore. He has so far collected 1,174 red points in 114 matches and he is counted among PKL’s best reders.

Former Telugu Titans captain Pawan Sehrawat has been included in the team for ₹ 59.50 lakh. He has so far achieved 1,318 red points and 70 tack points in 139 matches. The team has also retained the Iranian all -rounder Moin Shafaghi (103 Red Points) and Narendra Kandola (82 Red Points). Other options include Vishal Chahal, Dheeraj Ravindra Balmare, Yogesh Yadav, Abhiraj Pawar and Rohit Kumar Beniwal.
