All policemen, especially investigative personnel, are being given from laptop to smart phones

Bihar News: The state police department is digitizing all its procedures ranging from research to investigation. For this, all police officers, especially research officers, are being given from laptops to smart mobile phones. Apart from more than 40 thousand research and investigation officers posted at the police station level, other level officials have been provided from smart phones to laptops.

Along with completely digitizing the police department, a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of IG (Modernization) to move its everyday files online. This committee has recently visited states like Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, where the state police has almost been completely digitized. After the implementation of the new law BSS (Indian Code) in the country, it is also mandatory to have digital evidence of any police investigation or research process. In view of this, raids, action, site inspection or investigation are to be duly recording the process. Also, it has to be presented in the court as a digital evidence.

Focusing on digitization, the police department has also developed a large number of mobile -based app and started using it. From passport verification to identifying criminals, the process is being done through the relevant app on mobile. With the help of the app of CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System), criminals are being identified from mobile or information is being easily exchanged from one police station area to another. About 900 police stations in more than 1300 police stations in the state have been connected to CCTNS. The exercise to connect the remaining police stations is going on fast. In the police stations which have been connected to this network, the record of all criminals or notorious people has been made online.

Apart from this, Emergency Response System i.e. Dial-112 and Cyber Safety Helpline-1930 are also a fully computerized system. All the files in the CID unit of the police department go from one place to another or table through online. On the same lines, the movement of files from all other districts to the police station level will be done through online medium. Right now there is a facility to register an online FIR, but soon this facility will start in all police stations. Also, an online record of all licensed weapons and license holders will be recorded, which can be seen from anywhere.

These will be big benefits from this

Transparency will increase with all the process being digitized. The scope of tampering will end in any evidence. Its effectiveness will increase. Any evidence or facts can be seen from anywhere. Proper investigation of a case will be comfortable and it will be easy to punish the guilty by gathering concrete evidence at one time. This will also reduce the number of pending cases. In this case, DGP Vinay Kumar says that the complete digitization work of the police department is being done fast. In the coming few months, all work and procedures will be online. Due to their digitization, all the works will be comfortable.
