In such a situation, the first tension is- 'If you cancel the ticket, how much money will be deducted and how much will be returned?' If your ticket is confirmed and you cancell it, the charge depends on how many hours before the train departure. Accordingly, your money is also deducted.
Cancellation more than 48 hours before
AC First Class or Executive Class: 240 rupees and GST per passenger
AC 2 Tier or First Class: 200 rupees and GST on a ticket
AC 3 Tier, AC Chair Car or AC3 Economy: 180 rupees and GST per ticket
Sleeper class: 120 rupees per passenger
Second class: 60 rupees per passenger
Cancellation 12 hours before 48 hours
If you cancel the ticket 12 hours before 48 hours, then 25% of the rent and GST will be deducted (for AC class).
Cancellation of 12 hours before 12 hours
If you cancel the ticket 4 hours before 12 hours, then 50% of the rent and GST will be deducted.
Cancellation in less than 4 hours
If you did not cancel the ticket within 4 hours from the departure of the train or not file TDR (Ticket Deposit Receip), then no refund will be found.
Cancel till 4 hours before departure
20 rupees and GST will be deducted per passenger, the remaining money will be refunded.
Automatic cancellation
If the ticket remains witlisted even after the reservation chart is built, the system canceles the ticket automatically and the entire money is refunded without any charge.
If some passengers are confirmed on a ticket and some waiting list, then the confirmed passenger will be charged the same charge which is fixed for the confirmed ticket. The entire money of the weightlist ticket passenger will be refunded (20 rupees and after the GST cut).
Confirmed Tatkal ticket: If you cancele the confirmed tatkal ticket, no refund is found.
Weightlist Tatkal Tickets: The same charge will be deducted in it, which is used in the normal weightlist ticket.
Emergency Cancellation: According to the standard rules of the railway, the charge will be deducted.
If the train is late, how much charge is deducted when you cancel the ticket?
If your train is late for more than 3 hours and you do not want to travel, then you can get full refund. For this, TDR has to be filed on IRCTC.
