A new FASTag annual pass of ₹3000 has been introduced in India, which is valid for one year or 200 trips. With this pass, one can travel on selected major national highways and expressways without paying extra toll. However, this pass will not work on all state highways and private roads, so it is important to check the list of valid roads before traveling.

If you travel a lot on highways and expressways, then there is good news for you. The government has launched a new 'Annual Fastag Pass', which has come into effect from August 15. Let's know what it is and how useful it is for you.

What is this Annual Fastag Pass?

This is a kind of annual pass. To get it, you will have to pay Rs 3000 once. After this, you can travel on selected highways and expressways for one year or up to 200 trips (whichever is completed first) without paying any additional toll. Its biggest benefit will be to those people who often travel long distances.

Most importantly, it won't work everywhere

Now here is an important thing you should know. This pass will not work on every highway and expressway in the country. The government has made some rules and this facility will be available only on selected routes. Therefore, before buying the pass, it is very important to know whether it will work on your route or not.

So, where will this pass be valid?

This annual pass is valid on many major and important national highways and expressways of the country.

The pass will be valid on these national highways:

  • NH 44: Srinagar to Kanyakumari
  • NH 19: Delhi to Kolkata
  • NH 16: Kolkata to East Coast
  • NH 48: North-South Corridor
  • NH 27: Porbandar to Silchar
  • NH 65: Pune to Machilipatnam
  • NH 3: Agra to Mumbai
  • NH 11: Agra to Bikaner

Facility will also be available on these expressways:

  • Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
  • Mumbai–Nashik Expressway
  • Mumbai-Surat Expressway
  • Mumbai-Ratnagiri Expressway
  • Chennai–Salem Expressway
  • Delhi-Meerut Expressway
  • Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway
  • Eastern Peripheral Expressway
Where will this pass not work?

This pass will not work on state highways (i.e. states' own highways). Apart from this, this pass will not be valid even on expressways that are run by a private company or a state's own agency.

On these routes, you will have to pay toll as before using your regular FASTag or by paying in cash.

What to do?

So, the next time you go on a long journey, before leaving home, make sure to find out whether this annual pass will work on the highway or expressway on your route. This will save you from any trouble on the way and your journey will be comfortable and fast.
